<p Hi All, My suggestion is we each post here a short list of question we think will address the 11 objectives and somehow come up with a consensus view on the final questionaire we can post in final final! ???? /p>

Those 50 questions seem to be somewhat out of order. My suggestion is the following progression. I have
seen EJ's comments and have tried to incorporate them: Management-->Process-->Problems-->Promotion
-->Inquiries-->Brochure-->Web presence-->Resources-->Future opportunities--> Wrap up.

Management. (1,2,4,31)

- In just a few words could you tell us a little about your business, your individual roles and your
business plan.

Process. (6,9)

- Can you briefly walk us through the process of an order from the enquiry to point of sale to the manufacture of the surfboard?
- How much time is spent on each stage of the business? Enquiries, design, orders, manufacture, tours?

Problems. (29,30,35,36,37)

- What areas are you currently having trouble with in your business?
- If there is one aspect of your business that you could change right now, what would that be?

Promotion. (8,14)

- Who is your target audience and how do they find out about your business? How do you market yourself?

Inquiries. (3,5,7,10,11,15,16,17,18,25,32,34)

- Do you have a system in place for receiving and recording customer enquiries?
*If YES, Please give us a brief outline of this process.
*If NO, Is this something you think might benefit 'BAD Designs'?
- What percentage of enquires turn into orders?
- Regarding the factory tours you offer your customers, do you have set tour times, or are tours arranged
for customers as they enquire? and do tours lead to sales?
- Out of the many enquires you receive, how many of them turn into orders
- Do you feel your current method of handling enquiries and providing potential customers with
information is time and cost effective?

Brochure. (24,33)

- How much time and money is spent on developing and sending off brochures? and is this an issue for you?

Web presence. (19,26,27,28,45,48)

- How often (if at all) do you communicate with prospective clients via the web?
- Do you have a current online identity? (e.g. ebay, facebook, email, blogs)
- Have you considered a website/online store for your business to increase the efficiency of dealing with
your customers?
- Would you be interested in setting up a ‘virtual’ tour – utilising photos for example?

Resources. (12,13,20,21,22,23)

- What documentation, both internal and external, do you have for 'BAD Designs'? This might include
brochures, technical documentation, forms, sales pitches, and written policies/ procedures.
- have you developed a specific ‘BAD Designs’ graphic profile?
- Do you have a budget allowance to put towards new systems and process improvement?
*If YES, could you provide us with these details?
*If NO, how do you envisage being able to implement new processes and changes to your current working
environment?
- Do you utilise computers for the day to day operations of your business and if so how many?
*If YES, Is there specific software or hardware that you use and are you currently connected to the
internet or a network of any description?
*If NO, would it be within the budget to purchase such equipment.
- Do you have someone in your employ who can handle the data management of an online system?

Future opportunities. (38,39,40,41,42,43,44,46,47)

- Do you have a ‘wish list’ of improvements that you would like to see implemented at some point in the
future, that may not necessarily be urgent issues right now?.
- Do you have an idea of what you want the business to look like in the future? e.g. branching out into
other products.
- Considering the growth rate of your business so far, roughly how many enquiries and orders do you
predict you will receive per week in the near future? (say one years’ time?)

Wrap up. (49,50)

- Is there anything else that you believe we should know that is relevant about your company?

I have modified the questions as per our discussion today. We're now down to 20 questions! I'm happy with it, but also happy to make changes etc if people feel the need. Just let me know and I can modify and send out again.
